I had a small leak in my metal roof and suspected the boot around the vent stack because of its location. I was concerned about getting someone out to do what would likely be a small job and I did not want to risk getting on the metal roof myself. Jason at J&J Roofing (licensed and insured) responded quickly to my inquiry about the job. Between his schedule and mine, it took a few back-and-forths to get a date arranged. What I really appreciated during that time is he stayed in touch with me every step of the way and never failed to respond to a message the same day it was sent.
I now have a new boot on the roof and another one was inspected and determined to be fine. While in the attic checking for other issues around the vent stack, he noticed the builder did not use the proper length of screws and he explained the problem that can happen as a result — which could be 5’ish years out for me. He also explained two options for correcting the problem and the benefits and pitfalls of each. I’ll be having him back to resolve the problem when it fits into his schedule since it is non-emergency work.
